The 5 Best Fall Candles to Set the Cozy Mood at Home

It’s fall y’all!

Alright, friends, we all know that fall isn’t fall until your home smells like a mix of pumpkin spice, crisp apples, and a hint of something woodsy. 🍂 Candles are my favorite way to bring that perfect autumn vibe indoors, and today I’m sharing my top 5 favorite fall candles that’ll make your home feel like a cozy retreat. These scents will have you wanting to curl up with a blanket and a warm drink while watching the leaves change… trust me. Most of these fragrances have been a staple in my house for the past few autumns, so I just know you will love them!

Let’s dive into my favorites!

1. Pumpkin Laurel by Thymes

You can’t talk about fall candles without mentioning pumpkin, and Pumpkin Laurel by Thymes is hands down one of my favorites. This candle has all the cozy, comforting pumpkin notes you’d expect, but it’s elevated with a twist of cinnamon and creamy vanilla. It’s not too sweet or overpowering, just a perfect blend of warm, spicy, and inviting.

When to Burn It: Light this one up when you’re settling in for a movie night or hosting a fall gathering. It’s the perfect welcoming scent that makes everyone feel right at home.

2. Pumpkin Spice & Black Walnut by Anthropologie

Okay, this one is an instant fall classic. I just recently discovered this scent, but the Pumpkin Spice & Black Walnut candle from Anthropologie gives you everything you love about a traditional pumpkin spice scent but with a deeper, nutty twist. It’s warm, rich, and has this beautiful complexity thanks to the black walnut notes. It’s like the grown-up version of your favorite pumpkin latte.

When to Burn It: This is the one to reach for when you want to treat yourself to a lazy fall morning. Think cozy sweaters, a cup of coffee, and that perfect autumn playlist in the background.

3. Simmered Cider by Thymes

If there’s a scent that sums up the feeling of fall afternoons, it’s Simmered Cider by Thymes. Imagine a big pot of apple cider simmering on the stove, with the smell of fresh apples, clove, and a little hint of bourbon. It’s warm and comforting but with that crisp apple freshness that keeps it from being too heavy. This scent is the perfect blend without being overpowering, and perfect for kitchens and living rooms all through the fall and chilly weather seasons. And bonus– it comes in an adorable copper mug!

When to Burn It: This candle is perfect for any time you want your space to feel extra cozy. Think when you’re reading your favorite book or enjoying a quiet evening in.

4. Harvest Chestnut by Hearth and Hand for Target

I love a good Target find, and the Harvest Chestnut candle from Hearth and Hand does not disappoint. This scent has all the cozy warmth you could want, with notes of roasted chestnut, caramel, and a little bit of smokiness. It’s rich and comforting but still light enough that it doesn’t take over the room.

5. Frasier Fir by Thymes

I know what you’re thinking… Frasier Fir isn’t technically a fall scent, but hear me out. There’s something about that fresh, piney aroma that makes it perfect as we transition into the late fall months. Frasier Fir by Thymes smells like a walk through a forest, with crisp fir needles and just a hint of earthiness. It’s clean, grounding, and adds that outdoorsy touch that feels so right as we head toward winter. Seriously the perfect scent for any time of day when the weather starts to cool. And no, I probably won’t stop raving about it any time soon!
